Swedish Fish Candy- Sweedish Fish is a fish-shaped jelly candy that stands out with its unique “red” taste. In addition, they are one of the few jelly candies that do not contain animal gelatin. Swedish Fish jelly candies were created by the Swedish confectionery company Malaco. Why candy in the shape of a fish? In Sweden, fishing is a very profitable industry, so this choice of Malaco can be interpreted as a sweet tribute to the local industry. Eventually, these fish crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 1950. Malaco introduced Sweedish Fish to US consumers, in the 1960s and 1970s these jelly beans became a real hit.
